It features a factory-assembled waterproof connection box that ensures a code-compliant electrical connection, and it can be installed in both KERDI and KERDI-BOARD wall assemblies. Its integrated bonding flange is 1\/2\" (12.5 mm) thick by 2\" (50 mm) wide.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eInstallation\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRun the LIPROTEC-CW connection cable before installing the niche, with the cable gland positioned to connect at the top. Trace around the outside of the flange level and plumb, cut out the backing so the niche is supported on both sides by the studs, insert the stainless steel connection box and snap the cable gland into it, then fasten the niche to the studs with the KERDI-BOARD-ZS screws and ZT washers provided, fastening all corners and limiting spacing to 12\" (30 cm) o.c. Waterproof the seams between niche and walls with the pre-cut KERDI-BAND frame provided, using thin-set mortar with a 2\" (50 mm) overlap. Snap on the stainless steel cover, apply the self-adhesive patch, embed the mounting profile in thin-set at the top of the niche, tile, then insert the LED strip only after the tile has been set and grouted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis product must be installed by a qualified person in accordance with Schluter's instructions and with the Canadian Electrical Code Part I or the National Electrical Code as applicable. Do not install in a commercial, continuous-use steam shower; residential intermittent use is permitted. Do not install the LED and connection box at the bottom of the niche.
