Mapesonic 2 is a 76 mil thick, self-adhesive, flexible, thin, and lightweight, fabric-reinforced, advanced, patented membrane designed for sound attenuation, crack bridging, waterproofing, and vapor management. Mapesonic 2 can be installed immediately after installation of finished flooring. Mapesonic 2 reduces the transmission of impact sound (footsteps, falling objects, etc.) and airborne sound (voices, TV, etc.) through the floor when installed under ceramic tile, stone, vinyl, or wood floor coverings. It also helps prevent the transfer of existing or potential horizontal cracks (with in-plane movement up to 10 mm [3/8"] wide) through grout, ceramic tile, and natural stone.
