Description

Schluter-DITRA and DITRA-XL are specifically designed for ceramic and natural stone tile. They provide an uncoupling function that prevents tile and grout cracking. Made of polyethylene, DITRA and DITRA-XL act as a waterproofing layer to protect moisture-sensitive substrates, such as plywood/OSB. Air spaces beneath the membrane allow excess moisture and vapor to escape from the substrate—otherwise, the tile could be damaged. DITRA and DITRA-XL fulfill all these functions, in addition to providing adequate support and load distribution for the tile covering.

  • DITRA has a nominal thickness of 1/8" (3 mm)—limits tile thickness and the height of transitions to lower coverings.
