Product Information

The Schluter-TREP-B stair-nosing profile protects tiled stair edges while providing a highly visible, slip-resistant wear surface for durable, safe, and visually appealing stair-nosing design. Its wide 2-1/8" (52 mm) wear surface also makes it easy to mark the first and last steps of a staircase with a contrasting 2" (50 mm) strip to increase visibility and safety.

Also available in 3/8".

Features

  • Trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg made of aluminum
  • Slip-resistant thermoplastic rubber insert, replaceable in case of damage or wear
  • Wear surface meets or exceeds ADA static coefficient of friction recommendations (ASTM C1028 test method: 0.6 wet, 0.8 dry)
  • 5/16" (8 mm) radius on leading edges
  • Ideal for offices, shopping malls, and other high-traffic public areas
  • Requires no special maintenance — resistant to mold and fungi
  • Matching end caps available as an accessory

Installation

  • Select the profile according to tile thickness and format
  • Install the riser tile flush with the stair tread surface
  • Apply thin-set mortar along the edge area above the riser
  • Fill the cavities on the underside of the profile with thin-set mortar
  • Embed the trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg into the mortar, aligning the front edge flush with the riser tile
  • Trowel additional mortar over the perforated anchoring leg and stair tread surface to ensure full support
