Using the Wood Doctor Kit, you can quickly and easily touch up and repair a wide range of imperfections and damage to wood and plastic laminate, cabinets, trim, and other surfaces.
The kit contains:
- Finishing Planer: The stainless steel metal scraper is hollow-ground on both edges for maximum sharpness and is an important part of the Wood Doctor repair process. It is also used to remove dirt, overspray, drips, and excess filler.
- Hollow Floor Scraper: The finishing planer is used to bring the filler level to the same height as the surrounding surface.
- Two pieces of Scotch-Brite are used to finish the repair in the surrounding area.
- Hot Knife: The butane-powered hot knife melts the thermoplastic polymer color bars in the areas to be repaired. Unlike soft wax repair systems, these durable polymer color bars have a high melting point, allowing Wood Doctor and Ceramic/Vinyl Doctor to be used for permanent repairs in high-traffic areas and outdoor applications.
- A wire holder is also provided for the butane hot knife. "Always place the knife in its holder when not in use."
- Edge preparation pens: Natural Light EP1, Beech Edge EP6, Cherry Wood EP3, Mahogany EP9. A selection of edge preparation pens in a range of colors is used to prepare the edges of damaged areas and also to match the wood grain.
- Carrying case: A sturdy plastic carrying case contains the complete Wood Doctor repair kits.
- A selection of sixteen thermoplastic polymer bars is provided in a wide range of colors that can be used alone or mixed to match virtually any wood flooring color and shade.
