The Confortima system is a complete kit for installing ceramic and natural stone floors: the membrane, the adhesive and the trowel, in quantities that match each other.

What the kit contains — covers 100 sq ft

• 100 sq ft (9.3 m²) of AcoustiTECH Ceramic membrane
• 4.54 L (1.2 gal) of AD-280 adhesive
• 1 V-notch trowel, 1/8 × 1/8 × 1/8 in. (4.5 × 3 × 3 mm)

Nothing to calculate or order separately: the adhesive quantity matches the membrane area, and the trowel is the one the manufacturer specifies for that pairing.

For a larger area, the 15 L pail of AD-280 and the membrane are available on their own.

What the membrane does

The thermo-acoustic membrane does two things an ordinary underlayment does not. It blocks the transfer of microcracks caused by subfloor movement, which protects the tile from cracking. And it optimises heat distribution from an electric radiant floor, while remaining compatible with a hydronic system.

It is made from 100 % synthetic fibres, and none of its components emit VOCs.

Two jobs at once — uncoupling and acoustics

In a condo or multi-unit building, the membrane answers two requirements together: the acoustic performance the condo declaration asks for, and the uncoupling that keeps the tile from cracking.

⚠️ Acoustic performance — read before specifying

AcoustiTECH is direct about this: the hardness of a ceramic tile makes an IIC rating above 56 very difficult to reach, whatever products are used. Final performance also depends on the building structure and the quality of the work, not on the membrane alone.

Confirm the target rating with the manufacturer before committing to a specification.
