This steel depth control guide is used with the No. 985 Quarter Moon Knife in a two-step trimming process that removes excess weld rod from the joint area after cooling. First, insert the cutting guide under the knife and cut off the bulk of the material on a first pass. Then, the cutting guide is removed and a second pass is made with the knife only. No knife is included with this guide.
