This wedge-shaped tool features a fork at one end and a catch spring that holds the grease pin onto the fork, preventing it from falling onto the carpet below. At the other end, the tool has a solid steel pin. If the bottom of the hinge is open, simply insert the pin and tap it upward to lift the head. If the hinge is not open, insert the forked edge under the pin and tap it to wedge it in place. Once the pin is lifted, the fork can be inserted under the head to lift the pin out. The catch spring holds it onto the fork when removed. The nickel-plated steel body resists hammer blows.
