This wedge-shaped tool has a fork on one end and a catch spring that holds the grease pin on the fork, preventing it from falling onto the carpet below. On the other end, the tool has a solid steel pin. If the bottom of the hinge is open, simply insert the pin and tap it upward to lift the head. If the hinge is not open, insert the fork-shaped edge under the pin and tap it to wedge it. Once the pin is lifted, the fork can be inserted under the head to lift the pin out. The catch spring holds it on the fork when it is removed. The nickel-plated steel body resists hammer blows.
