This cutter excels on zigzag ("hydra-shift") carpets, including commercial loop pile and Berber! The blade passes directly behind the center row guide. This keeps the blade clear of offset yarns, preventing them from being sheared and causing unsightly seams. The wide base keeps the blade perpendicular to the yarns, further reducing nap shear. The row guide can be fully retracted into the base for a superior cut. The tool can also be used as a cutter to precisely trim carpet up to the Z-bar or vinyl moldings. Blades: Slotted razor (Crain #308C) and utility.
