Crain - Rapid Cushion Back Carpet Cutter

Rounded notches on the front fence help this cutter find rows in difficult carpets, including commercial-level berbers, hydrashifts and loops. Accepts standard slotted razor blades. Offset blade clamp allows for quick blade depth adjustment and changing. For best results, cut WITH (in the direction of) the balayage effect. Starting at a starting point on the left side of the seam, cut with a blade down the left side of the cutter. Return to this same starting point on the right side of the carpet and cut with the blade down on the same (left) side of the cutter, going down the seam in the same direction. This procedure simulates the factory row spacing of most carpets. If necessary, to cut both edges as close to the tufts as possible, cut the right side of the seam with a blade lowered to the right side, then for the left side, retract the right blade and cut with the left blade lowered. Blades: slotted razor (Crain No. 308C).
