Fusion - Carpet Fastening Strips with Concrete Nails 3/4" x 4' (100 Pack)

Tack strip is a building material used in most carpet installations. Installed around the perimeter of the area to be carpeted, the tack strip helps hold the carpet in place without the need for messy adhesives. These fasteners are available for use on wood or concrete subfloors. Most tack strips are sold in 1.21 meter (4 ft) long sections. The carpet strip itself is made from a thin piece of plywood, allowing the installer to easily cut it to the desired length. The tack nails are placed in the tack strip in staggered rows at approximately a 60-degree angle. Each tack strip also includes pre-installed fasteners, either concrete or wood nails, to secure the strip to the appropriate subfloor. The fastening strip should be oriented so that the gripping nails are facing the wall and there is approximately 0.95 centimeters of space between the strip and the wall. All fastening strips must be laid out before being nailed in place, a process known as "dry-fitting." By following this process, it's easy to see where full strips can be used and which areas require trimmed pieces, which can reduce waste. Once dry-fitting is complete, the pieces can be nailed in place with the embedded nails.
