Description

Access Tile is the global specialist in detectable tapered tiles and ADA compliant orientation tiles. This success is the result of progressive product development based on significant feedback from accessibility professionals, specifiers, installers and end users over the past 30 years. Our unrivaled industry experience allows us to integrate the latest materials and manufacturing technologies to develop cost-effective, durable detectable warning tiles that are easily installed. We offer multiple detectable product configurations to ensure each installation complies with federal and local Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Our detectable warning systems easily integrate into any area requiring truncated dome installations. Detectable warning signs serve as a distinctive warning for the visually impaired. The carefully placed truncated dome pattern on the detectable warning signs alerts people to potential dangers, such as railroad crossings and sidewalks. Every touchscreen we produce complies with ISO9000 manufacturing standards and our commitment to quality. Access Tile's directional orientation tiles (directional bar tiles) are specially designed to work in unison with truncated dome tiles. These tactile walking surface indicators (TWSI) use a series of bar-shaped tactile surfaces to create a detectable path. A tactile route allows access to all people, between two spaces or places. These paths are typically designed with truncated dome tiles to indicate areas where the path begins, ends or splits so that the visually impaired user can orient themselves to ensure they are following the desired path. These detectable warning tiles are extremely useful in helping visually impaired people navigate any space safely. These are available as surface-applied tiles and replaceable cast-in-place tiles and can be used in place of ADA pavers. We designed each directional orientation tile to maximize functionality for guide cane users. Our unique “sound on cane” feature, which uses sound reflection technology, creates audible feedback each time the tile is tapped or slid with a plastic-tipped guide cane. Common uses for our directional wayfinding tiles are paths to transit stops, between buildings, to elevator call buttons, and much more. This is the power of intelligent design and precision engineering.
