VAPOR BAN Primer ER is a two-component, 100% solids epoxy coating that solves two problems in a single coat: it blocks water vapor emission from a concrete slab and primes it for the self-leveling underlayment or floor covering that follows. There is no sand broadcast and no additional primer to plan for, and the slab is ready for the next step in 3 to 4 hours.

Coverage
100 sq ft/gal (2.5 m²/L) at 16 mils (0.41 mm) wet and dry film thickness, or roughly 300 sq ft (27.9 m²) per kit. Actual coverage varies with surface profile, applied thickness and slab absorption.
Can be used on
Concrete only, cured at least 5 days at 70°F (21°C), with a tensile strength of at least 200 psi (ASTM C1583) and an ICRI CSP 1 to 3 profile achieved by diamond grinding or shot blasting. The surface must be free of dust, oil, laitance, sealers and curing compounds, with no visible water or condensation. Interior use only, except as a primer under FRACTURE BAN.
Mixing and application
Mix 3 parts Part A to 2 parts Part B by volume. Store both resins at 65–85°F (18–30°C) for the 24 hours before mixing. Pot life is 20 to 30 minutes at 70°F (21°C) and 50% relative humidity, and the surface temperature must stay between 50 and 90°F (10–32°C) during application and for 24 hours afterwards.
Install the underlayment or covering once the epoxy is slightly tacky with no transfer, after 3 to 4 hours, and no later than 24 hours after application if the surface stays protected. It works with NXT Level and SUPERCAP self-leveling underlayments. If the 24-hour window has passed, apply a primer such as PRIME-N-BOND before carrying on.
For cracks wider than 1/8 in. (3 mm), mix 3 parts clean, dry sand to 1 part mixed epoxy.
Precautions
⚠️ Part B causes severe skin burns and eye damage and is harmful if swallowed or inhaled. Part A irritates the skin and eyes and may cause an allergic skin reaction. Wear gloves, eye protection and long sleeves, work in a ventilated space, and read the safety data sheets for both parts before use.
Both parts are dangerous goods under TDG; delivery is subject to the applicable transport rules.
