Mapeguard 2 is a self-adhesive, fabric-reinforced, load-bearing, flexible, thin, lightweight, 1 mm (40 mil) thick, technologically advanced crack-isolation, waterproofing, and vapor control membrane. Mapeguard 2 also helps prevent the transfer of existing or potential in-plane cracks (with movement up to 10 mm [3/8"] wide) through grout, ceramic tile, and natural stone. It also reduces the transmission of impact sound (footsteps, falling objects, etc.) and airborne sound (voices, TV, etc.) through the floor when installed under ceramic tile, stone, and wood flooring.
