These diamond hole saws can be used wet or dry for increased speed and longer life. Using a 5/8-11 angle grinder with a minimum of 11,000 RPM, holes from 3/4" to 2-3/4" (up to 2" deep) in diameter can be cut in porcelain, ceramic, and granite. The FT-S Long Life series features a 3/4" high sector-type diamond matrix for improved cooling and can be dressed for longer life. It has two through-hole slots (straight for the 3/4" diameter and V-shaped for the 3/4" diameter) for removing plugs, as well as flats on the hub. The FT-S Long Life series offers approximately 50% longer life than the FS Standard series. Best results are achieved by starting with a circular motion at a 45° angle to the tile and then continuing the circular motion at a reduced angle. Drilling time and saw life depend on proper operator use, tile material and thickness, and saw cooling. With adapter #ADPTR-AUFSIN, these hole saws can be used with a 3/8" drill (rotary only, no hammer action).
