Preformed inside/outside corner 90° for the Schluter QUADEC profile, in matte white aluminum, for 1/2" (12.5 mm) tile.
QUADEC is a finishing and edge-protection profile for tiled edges and the outside corners of tiled surfaces. Its squared reveal forms a square outer corner along the tile edge. It protects tile edges from chipping and mechanical stress, and also works as a decorative accent within a tile field, on floors as on walls.
Installation
The trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg sits in the thin-set bond coat beneath the tile. Apply thin-set with a notched trowel — for an outside wall corner, finish the first wall, then trowel thin-set over the corner area of the second. Press the leg into the mortar, align it, then trowel more over it for full coverage. Set the tiles flush with the top of the profile, or up to 1/32" (1 mm) higher — the profile must never sit higher than the tile. Fill the joint completely with grout and remove excess setting material immediately, especially from aluminum. Corner pieces are held with thin-set: fill the profile end before inserting the accessory.
The integrated joint spacer sets the tile position and forms a defined joint cavity with the tile, for a uniform joint of 1/16" to 1/8" (1.5 to 3 mm). The stainless steel version has no integrated spacer — leave a space of about 1/16" to 1/8" (1.5 to 3 mm).
