90° outside corner for the Schluter DILEX-AHKA cove-shaped profile, in brushed nickel anodized aluminum, 3/8" (10 mm) cove radius.
DILEX-AHKA is a cove-shaped profile in anodized aluminum or textured color-coated aluminum, designed for the transition between a wall to be tiled and a previously finished floor. It features a trapezoid-perforated anchoring leg secured in the mortar bond coat and a dovetail groove that is bonded to the existing floor with KERDI-FIX, epoxy resin, silicone or thin-set mortar. Its 3/8" (10 mm) cove radius prevents the accumulation of dirt, removes the need for caulking at this junction and meets the hygienic requirements of commercial kitchens, bathrooms and food-processing plants.
Installation
Apply thin-set mortar with a notched trowel over the area where the anchoring leg is to be placed. If necessary, fill the dovetailed channel with KERDI-FIX, epoxy resin, silicone or thin-set mortar to adhere the profile to the existing floor, then press the perforated leg into the mortar and adjust it securely against the existing building element. Corners and end caps are installed before the tile. Solidly embed the tiles flush with the top of the profile, leaving a joint of approximately 1/16" to 1/8" (1.5 to 3 mm) between the tile and the profile.
DILEX-AHKA integrates with DILEX-AHK at 90° inside vertical wall corners and with RONDEC at 90° outside vertical wall corners. The profile requires no special care or maintenance and is resistant to mould and fungus: a common household cleaner is enough. Never use abrasive cleaners on anodized or textured color-coated aluminum.
