SikaLevel®-250 is a one-component, polymer-modified, self-levelling cementitious underlayment formulated for interior applications over concrete, approved engineered plywood and a range of existing substrates. Its high flow allows either hand pouring or pump application to produce a flat, smooth base before the final floor covering goes down.
What sets it apart is turnaround speed: foot traffic after 3 hours, and ceramic tile or moisture-insensitive stone can be laid from 3 hours as well. On a site where levelling holds up every other trade, that is a full day recovered.
- Thickness from 3 to 31 mm (1/8 in. to 1 1/4 in.) in a single application
- Foot traffic after 3 hours at 23 °C
- Ceramic and moisture-insensitive stone laid from 3 hours
- Carpet after 16 hours, vinyl and PVC after 1 day, rubber and engineered wood after 3 days
- VOC-free and low odour
- Mix by drill or mixing pump
- Suitable over radiant floor heating systems
- Working time of approximately 20 minutes
⚠️ SAFETY — CRYSTALLINE SILICA DUST
Signal word: DANGER. This product contains 30 to 60 % quartz (crystalline silica) and 5 to 10 % Portland cement.
- H350 — May cause cancer by inhalation
- H314 — Causes severe skin burns and eye damage
- H317 — May cause an allergic skin reaction
- H335 — May cause respiratory irritation
- H372 — Causes damage to lungs through prolonged or repeated exposure
Do not breathe dust. Wear gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection. Work in a well-ventilated area. Prolonged exposure may cause silicosis. The classification also applies to the cured product when sanding, grinding or cutting. Read the safety data sheet before use.
APPROVED SUBSTRATES
- Concrete — minimum 25 MPa compressive and 1.5 MPa tensile strength
- Approved plywood underlayment
- Poured gypsum underlayment and poured hybrid gypsum/cement underlayment
- Non-conventional substrates, with SikaLevel®-02 EZ Primer CA
- Radiant floor heating systems (cables, or uncoupling membrane with cables)
MIXING AND PLACEMENT
Use 4.75 to 5 L of potable water per 22.7 kg bag, at approximately 21 °C. Add the powder to the water, never the reverse, and mix at high speed (> 650 rpm) for about 3 minutes until uniform. Never add extra water: over-watering causes segregation, shrinkage cracking and a weakened surface.
Do not over-mix, and keep the paddle submerged — entrained air shortens working time and causes surface pinholing. Pour and spread with a smooth trowel; avoid levelling a second time.
For a second coat, apply SikaLevel®-03 Primer Plus diluted 1:1 over the first coat once it is walkable. The second coat must not exceed the thickness of the first.
The product must air-cure: do not wet-cure or apply curing and sealing compounds. Protect from high temperatures, direct sunlight and draughts while curing. Clean tools with water immediately.
COVERAGE
Approximately 15.3 L of fresh mortar per 22.7 kg bag.
| At 6 mm (1/4 in.) | 2.4 m² (26 sq. ft.) per bag |
| At 12 mm (1/2 in.) | 1.2 m² (13 sq. ft.) per bag |
These figures do not account for surface profile, porosity or material waste.
