Schluter - DITRA-DRAIN Drainage membrane 3' 3" x 82' - 4 mm (250 ft²)

Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN is a passive capillary drainage and uncoupling mat, which is installed outdoors on a slope of at least 1.5 cm per meter. Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN consists of a polyethylene mat with a structure of approximately 4 mm high truncated cone-shaped studs, to which a permeable polypropylene nonwoven is bonded, and approximately 2 mm high truncated pyramid-shaped studs, laid upside down. These studs create dovetails on the underside, which serve to anchor the adhesive mortar. The adhesive mortar must be placed on the substrate using a 6 x 6 mm notched trowel; the Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN mat will be embedded in this mortar. The white non-woven fabric on top of the mat serves to receive the adhesive mortar used to secure the covering. This non-woven fabric is permeable to water and vapor, allowing the adhesive mortar to dry quickly while preventing water from rising into the covering (passive capillary action). Due to their close spacing, the truncated cone-shaped studs can withstand pressures of up to 50 t/m², and the dovetail joints also ensure excellent adhesion to the substrate. Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN is suitable for uncoupled interior installations for setting large-format tiles (larger than 60 x 60).

• The scattered structure of Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN allows for in-plane movement between the slab and the substrate. This effectively neutralizes the stress between the two, eliminating a major cause of breakage and delamination.
• Schluter-DITRA-DRAIN allows excess rainwater and runoff to escape to the tile below, preventing mold buildup.
