The wedi® Fundo Ligno shower base is designed for wood floors. Unlike the Fundo Primo, which sits on a slab, the Ligno recesses into the subfloor between the joists: that is what makes a curbless shower possible in wood-frame construction, with no step or lip at the entry.
Like every Fundo base it arrives pre-sloped, waterproof throughout and ready to tile, with its Click and Seal drain integrated and factory-sealed. Its extruded polystyrene core forms a thermal barrier that avoids the cold-underfoot feel and improves the performance of a radiant floor system.

⚠️ SUBFLOOR PREPARATION
The Ligno requires a subfloor recess cut before installation, sized to the thickness of the base. This step is carpentry work and must be planned early in the job — it cannot be recovered once the floor is closed in. wedi® offers a dedicated recess installation kit.
The floor structure must meet the deflection requirements applicable to ceramic tile finishes.
INSTALLATION
Set the base into the prepared recess, connect the drain, then seal the junctions with the walls using wedi® Joint Sealant.
Mortar and grout selection: for tile 2 × 2 in. and larger, polymer-modified cement-based thin-set and grout. Below that, the grout must be a 100 % solids epoxy.
