Description

Schluter-DITRA and DITRA-XL are specially designed for ceramic and natural stone tiles. They provide an uncoupling function that prevents cracking of tiles and grout. Made of polyethylene, DITRA and DITRA-XL serve as a waterproofing layer to protect moisture-sensitive substrates, such as plywood/OSB. The air spaces beneath the membrane allow excess moisture and vapor to escape from the substrate; otherwise, the tile could be damaged. DITRA and DITRA-XL membranes fulfill all these functions, in addition to adequately supporting and distributing the load of the tile covering.

• Provides decoupling, waterproofing, vapor management, and heavy load distribution to preserve the durability and integrity of tile installations.
• DITRA has a nominal thickness of 1/8" (3 mm) – limiting tile thickness and the height of transitions to lower coverings.
• Installs over concrete, plywood, OSB, gypsum, existing vinyl floors, structural planks, subfloors, and radiant floor heating systems.
• Features a crisscrossing rib structure and, underneath, a non-woven felt that will bond to the substrate without filling the cavities. Cement adhesive
