SikaLevel®-115 Skim Coat is a one-component, fast-drying cementitious skimcoating compound for the repair and preparation of concrete and approved wood underlayments. It goes down as a true featheredge and fills voids and minor levelling defects up to 13 mm (1/2 in.) deep.
Its creamy consistency produces a smooth surface with minimal trowel passes. More to the point, its rapid set clears the floor quickly: resilient flooring can be installed as soon as spreading adhesive with a notched trowel no longer damages the surface — generally after 20 minutes.
- True featheredge application up to 13 mm (1/2 in.) deep
- Rapid setting — resilient flooring installed from 20 minutes
- Creamy consistency, smooth finish in few trowel passes
- Good adhesion to concrete and approved underlayments
- Corrects touch-ups over poured self-levelling underlayment
- Fills holes, non-active cracks and panel seams
- Suitable for use with radiant heating systems
- Covers 14 to 28 m² (150 to 300 sq. ft.) per bag as an ultra-thin layer
⚠️ SAFETY — PORTLAND CEMENT AND SILICA
Signal word: DANGER. Contains 10 to 30 % Portland cement and quartz (crystalline silica).
- H314 — Causes severe skin burns and eye damage
- H317 — May cause an allergic skin reaction
- H350 — May cause cancer by inhalation
Do not breathe dust. Wear gloves, protective clothing, eye and face protection. Small amounts splashed into the eyes can cause irreversible damage. Prolonged exposure may cause silicosis. The classification also applies to the cured product when sanding, grinding or cutting. Read the safety data sheet before use.
RESTRICTIONS — READ BEFORE ORDERING
Interior use only. This product is not a wear surface: it must be covered with a final floor covering. It is not suitable for exposed repairs.
Do not use in thick applications over large areas, to cover or fill expansion or control joints, over dimensionally unstable substrates, on presswood, flakeboard or metallic substrates, over water-soluble adhesive residues or those subject to bleeding, or where hydrostatic pressure is present.
Never exceed the recommended water dosage. Protect from adverse drying conditions, draughts, dust and traffic until the final floor covering is laid.
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Concrete must be cured for a minimum of 28 days (14 days for cement mortar beds, 5 hours with SikaScreed®-40). On-grade and below-grade slabs must sit over an effective vapour barrier.
Porosity test: place a quarter-sized drop of potable water on the clean substrate. The concrete should darken. If the drop is absorbed within 60 seconds, the substrate is porous and acceptable. If absorption is very rapid, first apply SikaLevel®-03 Primer Plus diluted 1:3.
MIXING AND PLACEMENT
Use 1.7 to 1.95 L of potable water per 4.5 kg bag. In a clean container, pour roughly enough powder for 10 to 20 minutes of placement. Add water while mixing slowly with a margin trowel or Jiffy mixer, then mix vigorously to a smooth, lump-free consistency. Low-speed mechanical mixing gives a creamier texture.
Apply immediately after mixing with a flat-edge steel trowel, working the compound tightly into all defects, seams and non-active cracks. Beyond 13 mm depth, use an appropriate Sika levelling product such as SikaLevel®-250. Clean tools with water immediately — cured product can only be removed mechanically.
