Product Information

The Sigma J-Pro is a miter-cutting tool (jolly) that mounts on your angle grinder. It comes preset at 46°, the geometry that gives a clean miter and leaves the ideal gap for the sealant joint: all you choose is the distance from the blade to the tile edge, and you are ready to cut.

It slides along the edge of the tile and follows its natural curves, for a uniform cut along the whole edge, even on a large, slightly irregular slab. At 3.8 kg, it is easy to carry from job to job. This version has a universal 5/8"-11 UNC attachment, the standard grinder thread in Canada, and comes with a 115 mm diamond blade (grinder not included).

Key features

  • Fixed 46° miter: no angle to set, only the blade-to-edge distance (X).
  • A single pass on tile 5 to 20 mm thick (25 mm with a 125 mm blade), from 30 cm long to any length.
  • Universal 5/8"-11 UNC attachment, the version made for Canada and the United States, for 700 to 1,400 W angle grinders. For a grinder with an M14 spindle, choose the M14 J-Pro.
  • Wide sliding base: stable, and it glides without scratching the tile.
  • Small pieces and baseboards: the J-Pro fixes upright on a bench with no extra accessory, and attaches quickly to the Sigma workbench.
  • Dry or wet: dust-extraction port for dry work, or Sigma's Waterkit mist system for wet cutting (a cordless grinder is then mandatory).

Compatible blades

Also need rounded edges or an adjustable miter angle? The Jolly Edge cuts from 40° to 50° and shapes half-bullnose edges. Our guide to Sigma miter and bevel tools compares the tools.

Frequently asked questions

Which angle grinder do these tools need?

A 700 to 1,400 W angle grinder, not included. The spindle thread must match the tool version: the Jolly Edge and Simple Bevel sold at Ceramed have a 5/8"-11 UNC thread, the standard in Canada. The J-Pro comes in two versions: 5/8"-11 UNC and M14. Check your grinder's thread before ordering.

What is the difference between the Jolly Edge and the J-Pro?

Both make miter cuts in a single pass on tile 5 to 20 mm thick. The J-Pro is preset at 46°: you only set the blade-to-edge distance, and it weighs just 3.8 kg. The Jolly Edge adjusts the angle from 40° to 50° and also shapes half-bullnose edges with a 6, 8 or 10 mm radius. Our guide to Sigma miter and bevel tools compares them in detail.

What tile thickness can be mitered?

From 5 to 20 mm in a single pass with the 115 mm blade, and up to 25 mm with a 125 mm blade. For thin tile (up to 6 mm), Sigma recommends the 115 mm precision blade; for 7 to 20 mm, the 115 mm turbo blade is suitable.

Can it be used on baseboards or small pieces?

Yes, by fixing the tool upright on a bench: you then move the tile instead. The Jolly Edge mounts with the 37C kit and the Simple Bevel with the 36C4 kit; the J-Pro fixes to a bench with no accessory. These mounts attach to the Sigma workbench without tools.
